Our long-chain dicarboxylic acids (Novacid series) are used to synthesize high-performance ester plasticizers, mainly sebacates and dodecanedioates.
- Key Products: Dioctyl sebacate (DOS), dioctyl dodecanedioate (DODD), dibutyl sebacate (DBS).
- Technical Advantages: Low volatility, excellent cold resistance (DOS pour point ~-55°C), good compatibility with PVC, polyurethane, and rubber; less migration vs phthalate plasticizers.
- End Uses: Cold-resistant PVC products (wire & cable insulation, automotive interior trim, medical tubing), rubber seals, vinyl films for low-temperature environments.
Phenyl alkylsulfonate, often commercially known as Mesall (ASE), our M50 is same quality as Mesamoll and can be replacement, is a significant and versatile plasticizer. It is primarily used as a general-purpose, phthalate-free alternative in sensitive applications and benefits from excellent saponification (alkali) resistance.
- Primary Application Areas
Based on manufacturer data and technical assessments, its main uses are in polymer processing, especially as a replacement for regulated phthalates.
Polymer Applications (Primarily PVC)
· Calendering: Flooring, roofing, wall coverings, films, and sheets.
· Extrusion: Hoses, profiles, wires, cables, and miscellaneous compounds.
· Spread Coating & Molding: Coated fabrics, footwear, automotive undercoatings, and general molded parts.
- Non-Polymer Applications
· Adhesives and Sealants: For construction, automotive, and general industrial use.
· Coatings and Inks: Used in lacquers, paints, and printing inks.
Sensitive & Regulated Products
Due to its regulatory approvals (e.g., FDA, EU for food contact), it is used in:
· Food Contact Materials
· Children's Toys and Childcare Articles
· Medical Tubing (historically used in this area)
